Winter Fishing - Less Erratic Baits

When fishing during the winter, I’m always thinking about baits that are not real erratic. You can throw a jerkbait, a Strike King Lucky Shad, a Jig or even drop shot, things that won’t cause a lot of action in the water. With a jerkbait, I can work it very erratically, but I can also twitch it slowly with long pauses so that it has very little movement, and the Lucky Shad just moves smoothly back and forth with tight action. If you’re going to be fishing fairly shallow in the wintertime, all you really need are these types of baits rigged up, work them smoothly and slowly, and you should be able to catch a lot of fish. Good luck out there!
