Forrest Wood Cup

In the world of professional fishing, when the year starts, one of the goals of every FLW Tour pro is to qualify for the Forrest Wood Cup. Fifty-one anglers will compete in the Cup this year, and needless to say, it is a prestigious field. I had a pretty good year, finishing 17th in the standings. If it weren’t for one really bad tournament, I would have been close to the top, but that’s just how it goes. The Cup is at Lake Murray, South Carolina August 11-13, which is a brutally hot, tough time to fish in South Carolina. It’s the way the Cup should be though. It should be a true test, hard to figure out, and that much more rewarding for the winner. I’ve qualified for 18 Forrest Wood Cups but never won -finished 3rd twice and always love the challenge. I’ll be shooting for the W this year again, of course. It ought to be a great event.
