ICAST 2015

I have just recently returned from the ICAST show in Orlando. It is always great to see the new, innovative products and catch up with friends, old and new. One of the highlights for me this year was playing in the Bass N Birdies Classic, a golf tournament benefiting the Keep America Fishing organization. This year I played with Wade Middleton and a couple of other buddies. We ended up in fifth with a mediocre 64. I did catch a couple of nice bass which boosted our score, but we still came up a little short.

Then it was off to the show to see some of the new products in the tackle world. I am like a kid in a candy store with all the new innovative products and am anxious to try them out this year, but the true fun there is renewing relationships that I miss in our spread out sport. I had the opportunity to visit with Davy Hite, Randall Tharp, Brett Hite, KVD, Randy Howell, David Walker, Mike McClelland, Gerald Swindle, Tommy Biffle, Fred Roumbanis and many more. Several years ago, when I was able to fish both tours, I saw all of these guys often. Now it’s just once a year, and it’s definitely one of the highlights of ICAST for me. Looking forward to next year!
